I have always admired the abstractive creativity that is Gustav Klimt, I have to admit, this is only because I saw Elfen Lied, and then researched it a little. I love looking at the inspirations of anime and manga works.
I adore german artists, Anselm kiefer, Sigmar Polke....they're all great. Its just something about it. And of course, since EL's opening is based on Klimt's work, I decided to have my try at this pose.
The colours and patterning is what really gets me, it must have taken a long time to get all the technical neatness. Its truely amazing. I recommend you search for Klimt's piece 'Stoclet Frieze' because its just spectacular.

With regards to the picture I just drew, yeah, its Elfen Lied. Its better than my last, but this time I actually painted the background etc - [link]
The storyline is sad, but I adore it. I just love unhappy endings, they make me cry, but its not really an unhappy cry - more, like a thankful one.
That I've got my family, alive and well (despite my sister being annoying to me, I still love her), I may not get bullied often, but I've been bullied because I'm different. The question it begs, if you had the power to fight back, and wipe out everyone who has hurt you (this infact ties in with EarS? meh online manga well, its a theme in life that often repeats.) ....would you do it? Would you fight back, and thrash that bully to the floor, and if so...what then?
It wouldn't be them who is the monster, but you.
It sounds unfair, but its true. Rising to the occasion... only ends up in an unhappy ending. Endurance is something hard in life, but we do it. I endured my issues when I was young, and I feel better for it. I don't feel bitter either.

But thats just me....
